Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade – Traffic & Access Advisory

The annual Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade will take place on April 18, 2026. Traffic restrictions will be in effect in the northwest Newton area and may impact residents and businesses.

Please review the following important information:

    • Road Closures: Traffic control will be in place from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. along the designated parade route. No vehicles will be permitted on the parade route during this time.
  • Business Access: Businesses requiring vehicle access to the parade route must do so before 7:00 a.m. After 7:00 a.m., business owners with a valid parking pass will be permitted access to the soft closure zone only (see attached map) for drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Resident Vehicles: Any vehicle remaining on the parade route after 7:00 a.m. will not be permitted to exit until approximately 5:00 p.m. Residents within the restricted area are strongly encouraged to move vehicles outside the closure zone prior to 7:00 a.m.
  • Resident Access: Surrey Police may assist residents requiring access to or from their homes; however, vehicles will not be allowed onto the parade route until the phased reopening begins at approximately 5:00 p.m.

Please plan your routes accordingly.  Refer to the Parade Map for parade routing.
